Mixed life in Switzerland [ Letters Index ]

I married a Filipino woman. I could not believe that different habits could arrive to brake up our marriage. She is always busy to fill the house with people. It is normal to receive 10 people every day. Relatives and friends. I am also jealous of those entire bonds that she has. I fell put a part. They never break their bonds not even when they get married. This is going to give us lot of problem.

Do you think is always problem marring somebody of another culture, or my one is just one case?

Answer

There are people that have a really closed mind. They believe that the wife has to have their same way of thinking and living. For them is easy to get irritation for a behavior not adequate to their habits. On the contrary there are people that have a open adaptable and elastic mind, maybe because of experiences, or lots of living abroad, traveling. Anyway, before start a common life, should check if personal habits do not get in contrast with the partner habits and culture. Good is to discover together common interest. We can say that mixed couples have a real more difficult life, but, if you are willing to work on it, it can become a great and better experience than normal couples
